- Grainy, bland and dry
They must have a lot of connections, because they are not that great. I've tried every brand except Three Bakers, and most are just like Udi's: dry, white rice and starch, and bland as heck. I'd much rather just go without thanks. Udi's needs to get their act together now that Franz has a phenomenal gluten free bread out and Canyon Bakehouse is just as good, as well as having excellent, chewy, soft bagels. Udi's is old news.
- Pretty good
I've been using this bread for a while and it's one of my favorites. Out of other GF breads I've tried, this one (and Glutino brand) is the most tolerable. The size of the slices are pretty small, so making sandwiches is a little awkward sometimes, but otherwise it's great. Like the review before me said, it tastes best when grilled and filled with something yummy.
- makes outstanding grilled cheese!
I rediscovered grilled cheese sandwiches after I found I could eat goat cheeses without the horrible effects that cow cheese gives me. Udi's sandwich breads are the best I've found for cold sandwiches, but even the best GF sandwich bread is not great. However, grill this stuff with cheese or tuna salad or any filling I've tried yet & it's WONDERFUL; you can get that crispy/delicate crunch outside with soft inside that I've found impossible with other brands of GF breads. I just tried to make a Gr'd Cheese with Glutino bread & ended up with hot cheese and sauteed bread crumbs. I on't be buying any other brand, no matter how good the sale price.
